HISTORY: A family estate since 1874, the Pradelles have been making wine on their land for several generations. These independent winegrowers cultivate and harvest the grape variety necessary to make their wines. Located in Suze-la-Rousse, on the Baume-de-Transit road, the Domaine du Jas is a vineyard of more than 38 hectares.
ABOUT: The warmth of Grenache (60%) combined with the aromatic power of Syrah (40%) gives a very representative blend of its appellation. Grown on Clay and Sandstone plateaus.
VINIFICATION: After partial de-stemming, the juice undergoes 30 days of maceration on the skins, then pressing. The wine is then bottled after 10 months of aging in vats.
TASTING NOTES: Med.-Full bodied, dry Red wine. Dark Ruby w/ Purple hints. Aromas of Cherry, Plum and Tobacco, w/ Earthy hints. The palate continues w/ Red & Black fruits, Tobacco, Wild Herbs, Garrigue, Bacon & a hint of Barnyard. Warm w/ fine tannins. Med. Finish. Warm w/ fine tannins that will soften over the first two years. This wine will evolve towards a Musky, animalistic nose & Peppery Spices.
FOOD PAIRING: This is the ultimate house wine- versatile enough to pair with a variety of foods including Spiced and Herb heavy dishes, Roasted Meats, Game, Poultry, BBQ, Strong Cheeses & Cured Meats.
