ABOUT: 100% Malbec (which is significant because the vast majority of Cahors is cut with Merlot or Tannat). A powerful French "country" red from thirty-year-old vines grown in chalk-rich clay soils on a limestone substrate in the Lot Valley in Cahors, the ancestral home of the Malbec grape.

TASTING NOTES: Full bodied, sustainable Red Wine. Inky, dark Purple. Powerful nose of Blackberry Jam, Blueberry, Plum, Tar, Vanilla, Allspice, Tobacco and an Herbal edge. On the palate this wine has note unripe Strawberries, Plum, Blackberry, Tar & Mint notes. Crisp, refreshing, but balanced, acidity, and bold tannins. Elegant, juicy & full, w/ a complex & persistent finish.

FOOD PAIRING: Dark and brooding, with full body and a lingering finish. Enjoy this wine with a juicy Steak, Burgers off the Grill, BBQ, Lamb, Game, Grilled Veggie Burgers, Pasta Bolognese, and bold aged Cheese.
