HISTORY: Sheldrake Point Winery is named for the prominent point of land on which it sits, located on the western shore of Cayuga Lake. The 155-acre lakeside property, left to languish in the mid-1980s, caught the attention of a small group of wine enthusiasts who purchased the land and founded the winery in 1997. Sixty acres have been dedicated to the estate vineyard, planted with ten vitis vinifera varieties.

ABOUT: This Gamay Noir is a beautiful representation for the quality of our Cayuga Lake vineyard and the cool climate of the Finger Lakes.

TASTING NOTES: Med.-bodied w/ soft aromas of Dried Flowers and fresh Red Berries. A fruit forward nose of Strawberry, Cranberry, & Candied Cherry, w/ soft Toastiness. The bright palate has notes of Red Fruit, & warms w/ a Spicy mix of Cloves & Cinnamon. Med. Finish.

FOOD PAIRING: Charcuterie, Cheese, particularly Brie and Cheddar, Roasted Chicken, Turkey, Pork (Chops, Roast, Sausage), Frisée salad with Lardons, Grilled Vegetables, Grilled Salmon, Tuna.
